I’m not much for shopping – anyone who knows me knows that about me! I avoid Black Friday (like the plague!) by staying home or going hiking. But a friend made a comment a while back about buying copies of my books for Christmas gifts, and I got to thinking about timing.
Christmas is just over a month away, and there’s plenty of time to shop, unless you need to ship. Be sure and plan for time for the vendor to ship to you, then wrap and ship to recipients. Right now, UPS’s site shows December 15 as the latest date for packages to arrive on time via the cheapest method, ground. And it’s always better to be safe and add a day or two cushion in case of blizzards.
So don’t delay, especially if you already know what you want to buy. Amazon usually discounts the prices of the print versions of my books. If your total order is more than $25, shipping is free, although the free option is limited to ground. When you factor that into your timing, it’s probably a good idea to get those books and other gifts ordered now!
As for me? I’m busy working on writing the next installment in the Appalachian Foothills series – and giving thanks for the many blessings I enjoy.
Have a wonderful holiday season! ♥
